There have been times in my life when my thoughts somewhat drift when being spoke to or even when I’m speaking. On these occasions, which I claim are seldom but friends scoff at my naïve recollection of these instances, I have been heard to utter “SQUIRREL!” Trust me, I have actually spotted a squirrel and my attention is totally committed to watching the little varmint frolic about doing what squirrels do. I am not proud of it nor do I actually have an explanation but I have many pictures of these rodents doing their squirrely best to grab my attention. One of my subjects was especially engaging and I was able to capture him (or her) when it shimmied up a tree while I was visiting my son in San Antonio, Texas. I remember showing this image to a co-worker and saying that this was a “Texan squirrel” and he guffawed at the notion and said I probably took it in my backyard. I was appalled that they did not believe me so I had to help illustrate this furry beings origin. What do you think?
I have many images to come showing other vermin and their origins so stay tuned for this blog post to expand.
